The Military Take On the Anti-War Crowd
The battle has been joined and the military are taking the fight to the cut-and-run representatives. First up, Lt Smash of Indepundit questioned Congressman Bob Filner at an "Out of Iraq" forum. Initially it was a friendly environment for the Congressman and during the Q&A he initially received softballs. That changed when Smash was called upon.
The atmosphere of the forum changed and Congressman Filner became flustered. He wasn't expecting a tough crowd. Read more of the questions and answers.
Sgt. Mark Seavey and General Wagner confronted Democrat Reps. Jim Moran and John Murtha at a town hall meeting in Arlington, Va. Michelle Malkin has the video clips of their questions. Once again the cut-and-run types were surprised to be confronted by someone with opposing viewpoints. Sgt. Seavey confronted Rep. Moran on the Democrats' demoralized troops meme. General Wagner read a letter from a mother who lost a son in Iraq, addressed to Rep. Murtha. Here is the last paragraph.

SMASH: But I do have a question...
We all want the war to end, and the troops to come home safely -- especially those of us who have been there. But, putting aside for the moment your differences, and the differences of most of those here, with the current administration on the policies that got us to where we are today:
Are you committed to the success of our military in Iraq, or are you resigned to failure?

I can't find one in a dozen that don't believe that they are fighting for a noble cause and are fighting to go back. And I think it's a disgrace when members of our congress, just as they did in 1975 when they sold out the South Vietnamese, are selling out our soldiers today in Iraq.Good of these gentlemen for standing up against those who wish the troops harm.
